How it works
What to do before we arrive
Once you call, a crew is on the way. Here is how you can help us get started quickly when we get there.
Be there to let us in
Someone needs to be at the property to let us in. If you cannot be there, tell us who will be and how to reach them. For rental or commercial properties, that can be a tenant, a property manager, or a contractor.
Show us where you noticed the damage
When we arrive, walk us through what you saw and where. Where the water was coming from. Which rooms have smoke or soot. Where the roof or windows were damaged. You do not need to know what caused it. Just show us what you noticed.
Give us some background
A little history helps us plan the work. When did you first notice the problem? Has it happened before? Has anyone else been out to look at it? Is the water or power already shut off? Are there pets or anyone in the home we should know about?
Stay safe while you wait
- Stay out of rooms with sagging ceilings, standing water near outlets, or a strong smell of smoke or gas.
- If it is safe to reach, shutting off the water main can slow water damage. If you are not sure where it is, leave it and tell us when we arrive.
- If you can, leave things where they are. Photos of the damage as you found it are helpful for your records and your insurance claim.
